Agricultural revival in Nkwadi: how CICOAGRI and ATA-DRC are transforming Kasai-Oriental
Direction de la Communication CICOAGRI 14 Février 2026
Once dependent on imports of staple foods, Kasai-Oriental is now experiencing a genuine agronomic revolution. At the strategic Nkwadi site, CICOAGRI SARL, working with the DRC's Agricultural Transformation Agenda (ATA-DRC), is deploying an unprecedented agro-industrial operation.
Careful, intensive mechanisation
From first light, dozens of modern tractors fitted with pneumatic seed drills and precision sprayers criss-cross plots that stretch as far as the eye can see. The main crops – improved white maize and soybeans – follow a rigorous cropping plan set by our team of Congolese agronomists.
“Our vision in Nkwadi is not just to produce raw grain: we process on site to give the added value back to the Congolese people.”

An industrial flour mill next to the fields
The great strength of the CICOAGRI model lies in post-harvest integration. The flour mill installed directly on the base dries the harvested cobs continuously, grades the grain and mills it immediately. The result is the well-known CICOAGRI Super Flour, sent straight to sales outlets in Mbuji-Mayi, Mwene-Ditu and Kananga at very competitive prices.
